My background
In 2013, Helena began her circus journey at Circomedia, where her passion for performance truly took root. Driven to explore her craft further, she enrolled in the Academy for Circus and Performance Art in the Netherlands. There, she pushed herself to experiment with new, inventive juggling techniques, distinguishing herself in the field. Helena’s creativity was recognized on an international level—she was invited to create a video for the International Jugglers’ Association and was ranked 29th in the Top 40 Jugglers of the Year competition.
All About Me
Helena’s professional circus journey took off in 2015 with a performance at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with Swing Circus. The festival’s electric energy left a lasting impression, and in 2018, she returned with Gandini Juggling to perform 8 Songs, deepening her love for the event. Her career has since become a ticket to travel, culminating in a unique 2022 experience performing Duel Reality on Virgin Voyages’ Scarlet Lady. Created by the acclaimed 7 Fingers circus company..
Helena’s love for circus theatre shines through in her roles within storytelling performances. In ATLAS, a show by Oddly Moving and directed by Charlotte Mooney, she portrayed Heracles. The production, starring three powerful women, weaves Greek mythology into a moving exploration of the metaphorical burdens people carry through life.
She’s also performed in vibrant children’s shows, touring with companies like Cirque Bijou, Upswing Aerial, and Brainfools. These tours brought her to diverse venues—libraries, museums, and town squares—where she connected with audiences of all ages in intimate and lively settings.
In 2024 Helena graced the stage of the AO Arena and performed in the opening number for BBC's Big night of Musicals, sponsored by the lottery. She performed for the 1200 people in the arena as well as all the people watching it on TV. This was a stepping stone in to the world of broadcasting as she then performed live on sky sports, for the women's netball championships at Wembley Arena.
Helena has furthered her art as a soloist, receiving invitations to perform at juggling conventions across the UK, Germany, and Austria, building her reputation on the international stage.
